Austrade supports Australian firms participating in Japanese S-Booster program
The Australian Trade Commission, Austrade, is inviting Australian space companies to participate in Japan’s S-Booster contest. Entries close on 20 June
S-Booster 2022 is a space-based business idea contest for ventures, individuals, and businesses in different industries in Japan and the Asia-Oceania region that aim to commercialize their business ideas utilizing “space”.
Excellent ideas that successfully proceed through the first 2 stages of the application will receive mentoring from experts. At the final selection meeting, finalists present their (now-refined) business ideas to investors and companies interested in the space sector. This provides an opportunity to grow their network and receive additional support. Of course, there will also be cash prize awards.

- Round 1 (document screening): July 2022
- Round 2 (presentation): July 2022
- Mentoring: August – December 2022
- Final Round: December 2022
There are eleven prizes, including six Sponsor prizes– the cash prizes are in Japanese Yen (approx. ¥90.00 = AUD$1.0)
