Innovaero awarded DISP Membership
WA-based aeronautical technology company Innovaero Technologies has been awarded membership of the Commonwealth’s Defence Industry Security Program (DISP).
DISP membership will enable Innovaero to work on information and assets managed by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as well as Australian intelligence and law enforcement agencies. This will strengthen Australia’s sovereign industry base, says the company.
Based in Kardinya, Innovaero is a 100% Australian owned aeronautical product design, certification and manufacturing company, which has achieved a track record of delivering successful outcomes for clients in Australia and the United States.
While Innovaero has been operating within a high-level security environment for some time, DISP membership demonstrates that Innovaero has met the security requirements of Defence, other government agencies and leading industry partners both in Australia and overseas. Last year the company revealed it had begun to collaborate with Insitu Pacific, a subsidiary of Boeing, on the development of Australian technology for UASs.
“Achieving DISP certification marks a significant milestone in Innovaero’s growth as an Australian-owned and operated manufacturer and opens up a wide variety of opportunities for Innovaero, which we have already begun exploring with the Commonwealth and Defence primes,” said Innovaero Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Grosser.
DISP membership strengthens Innovaero’s ability to deliver innovative, specialist aeronautical capabilities within a Defence-standard security environment. This also strengthens Innovaero’s value to Australian and global aerospace supply chains, as a dynamic and trusted sovereign industry partner.
The DISP application process involved identifying and managing security and cyber risks, extensive team training and the development of security policies, said Grosser.
