XTEK receives $26.9M SUAS order from Defence
Canberra based XTEK Pty Limited has won a $26.9 million order from the Australian Defence Force to supply an unspecified number of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS). The SUAS will be a mix of AeroVironment aircraft already used by the Australian Army for tactical reconnaissance and surveillance tasks.
Deliveries are expected to be complete by late-2023.
The company is also manufacturing ballistic protection body armour for a range of customers, including the armed forces of Ukraine. The combination of armour, SUAS and other technology sales could see this SME record revenues of more than $82 million for the full financial year.
“XTEK is very pleased to be able to continue to provide Defence with high-end SUAS technology,” said Group CEO Scott Basham. “This new order for a mixed fleet of advanced AeroVironment drones, will deliver significantly enhanced tactical reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities for Defence.”
